Perry sucked too. And I timed commercials. 4 minutes of show for every 5 mins of commercials. Well heck, the stars had to be paid big money !!!!

I missed it on purpose. Much of the music these days is not to my liking, but there is the occasional song I like. I came up listening to the (American) music of the 40s & 50s & up to the early 60s. I must admit I hated it when the Beatles first started taking over the radio waves in '64. It was all you heard - Beatles this & Beatles that. I was a big fan of Doo-Wop & R&B and the earlier rock music. The Beatles just sort of rolled over it and killed it and became a big infuence in taking music in a new direction. These days I don't pay much attention to the music scene. I still collect old 45s (records) and listen to those . . .

Would like to add that eventually I started listening to the Beatles and liking them. I have a lot of their 45s. I was very impressed with Lennon & McCartney's songwriting prowess.

I'm sort of with you. I remember the Ed Sullivan shows when they were on. My pop always watched the show. I was more into the early 60s. You know four seasons, safaris , girl groups, dion etc. my influences were older brothers listening which got me early into transistor radios listening to top 40 held to my ear . I wanted to be a guitar hero and cut my teeth on the instrumentals by the ventures snd safaris. When the stones came over then I got interested in their real "rock" you know 3 cord progression. I too didn't appreciate the Beatles until later.

Ringo is my favorite Beatle because he was the most overlooked and underappreciated of the bunch. He had a cool album out around '74 called "Ringo" and there was this song from the album, "Oh my my" that became a hit for him.

I dvr'd the first hour so I could skip through the BS. Ringo is so cool, enthusiastic, Humble. Looked like Barbara still adores him. Paul also seems to have his feet on the ground, Doesn't have to work so hard but just loves it. It took a while for me to get to like them(also a Doo Wop and girl group fan). But I found that I can like 'em all. What's wrong with silly love songs?
