I apologize for being away for awhile. Things are going okay though. I'm slowly but surely getting strength and stamina back. We.managed to take a trip with some of the chapter members to Lynchberg for a visit to the Jack Daniels Distillery then on to the George Dickell Distillery. Went on to Nashville and did a night of "honky tonking" on Broadway. The next morning we hit I40 back to NE Tennessee. I got off I81 at the Blountvagas (Blountville) exit about 9pm. It was getting a bit chilly but we had a WONDERFUL time!!:D

Good to hear from you again, Danny. Sounds like you all had a great trip, too. Do they do booze tasting like at wineries? Ha-ha! Nashville hight life can be fun - did that once back in the 70s while passing thru on my ironhead . . .

They have two tours you can take; regular no tasting and Felix tasting. But one of the things that all tours do is fan the maple charcoal filter lids. You get a right stout whiff of some 140 proof vapors. Can't do a lot of that.

Me and MC have talked about getting together over at the Maple Tree Restaurant but never have been able to make connections.

We sort crashed a wedding though. They had closed early for the wedding and we didn't realize that so here is the bride walking down the bridal path (a beautiful outside wedding) and up rolls 8 Harley's. Well the.photographer stops taking pictures of the bride and starts getting pics of the Harley's and riders. Nothing like helping to create a Kodak moment.:D:D

CONGRATS! One of our group is too. Owns a whole square inch of Lynchberg. Looks like as much money as they make on the whiskey that they could afford to pave the parking lot.:banghead:

Where the mind goes the body follows is very true. A lot of health is "state of mind". One of the guys that I go to DC for Rolling Thunder asked me earlier this year if I was going to be able to go with them. I told him if I could get my leg across the Harley, I was going so I packed up my chemo pills and went.;)

Really glad to hear that he is doing well and back to work. If his experience wa similar to mine, the chemo was worse than the disease or surgery combined. I turned 64 a couple of weeks ago so I'm counting down the weeks to retirement. I'll be telling the folks at work this week that I have 49 weeks left as of this week. They love me for it..........:roflmao::roflmao:

BTW hotroadking, our chapter does the KY Burbon Trail. I haven't gotten to do it yet but planning to. The last time they did it, I was doing chemo and not doing so hot. All that's behind now so I'm ready to ride.:D:D

Danny, great to hear from you. Thought about you Sunday coming back from above Abbingdon, came down 173 and 107 to Unicoi... and up old Mtn Road over Sam's Gap. Made me think about you, wondering how you were doing. Cool to hear you are riding and coming back!! ;)
