Anyone still running the bendix carb with adj main jet; or has??? I;m debating whether put it on a 82 sportster I;m putting together. Bike has 10 to 1 pistons; R5 andrew cams; and single fire ignition. Running drsg pipes with HP Plus baffles installed. I;m debating to run it or pick cv carb off of ebay .Would the cv out perform the bendix to make worth buying...

CV would be the better choice, it's got all the newer carb tech
and will provide a better smoother power curve, plus you can get
all kinds of bolt in kits for them...

Ken sells one here to fine tune the CV...

I would go with the cv as well. Way more tunable than the Bendix. Parts available almost anywhere.

The Bendix butterfly carb came with my motor and I had a lot of problems with it. Tried rebuilding it twice and still had vacuum leak issues at the butterfly shaft. Picked up a used CV 40 from a forum member here, got a rebuild kit & stage one performance kit from CVPerformance and never looked back. It is a great carb. Another advantage of the slide style carb is that it self adjusts for altitude changes.
