I have a 91FXSTC and recently taken it to my local service shop for a trans seal repair, I have owned this bike for 3years and have never had any problem it. Come to find out that my frame is bent slightly on primary side just under where the stater is and the inner primary will not come off unless the motor is jacked up cause it is resting on the frame on this side, the guy said he could shem the motor up and make the repair and put it back together and it should be fine or the other option would be to take the motor off and try and repair the frame or buy a new one, any suggestions??? Thanks Alex

you say the bike ran fine....i assume it is not leaking or hurting the cases. if the tech can shim it for you, i would go that route.....it is already in there and most of the labor has already been done.......i dont see an advantage to taking is someplace else, have more labor to get it to the point it is then do the repairs,,,,,,let us know what ya do!!.........:)

Thanks for the input guys, I got some good news today, the motor had to be jacked less than a 1/8 inch for the inner to come off and what was found was the boss on the inner where it was touching frame is alittle bigger than normal even though it is a Harley part, so at this point the plan is to take about 15 to 20 thousants off the boss and put it back together, the frame was checked out very good for alignment front to back and everything in between and all was good, so bent only a small fraction from what I had first thought, also all numbers match and everything in primary looks to be factory, so all good news, and hope to be riding this weekend. Thanks Alex

The guy that signs your check or walking papers, yells a lot, keeps you from napping all day and sitting on the internet on porn and bike sites posting about nothing important. :D :roflmao:

Im not sure if the word boss is the technical word for what it actually is, but its what I call it and most machinist Ive been around call it, it is basically a section where the material it built up (thicker) for what ever reason than other area's in most cases it is for strength.
