I know everyone will tell me to ride but I am looking for a loading system of some sort that I can transport my Ultra in the back of my 2010 F150 4x4 6.5 foot bed. There are a lot of choices but I have not talked to anyone that actually uses one. Any feedback would be great. All the manufactures say theirs is the best.

i havent used any, but have seen them. with a short bed you will need one with it's own carriage that attaches to the bed of the truck. your ultra will hang off the back. i liked the one that had the load/off load winch. dont recall the name.

Sense it is a short bed I would suggest a trailer to tow behind it, much easier to load and unload.

PIA to get a 8' bike in a 6.5' bed...with a loader you wouldn't get the tailgate up,lot of jockeying to try to angle the bike in the box with out a loader(wouldn't want the rear wheel resting on the tail gate)...a trailer would be the way to go when you have a short box pick up and a lot cheaper and easier.

My RoadKing fit in my 2000 GMC short bed no prob. 6.5 ft is 78 inches, wheel base on a Ultra is 63inches. You just won't be able to close the tailgate. When I moved I transported mine from Detroit to LA like that.

Get a set of ramps. I drive right up em easy. picked up friends bikes, took mine to the dealer a few times. Now I use the ramps for all kinds of stuff, ATVs, moving furniture and refrigerators with hand dolly's. Ramps come in real handy for a lot of things.
