Hi, i have a 2012 streetglide with vance and hynes slash cut slip ons. They are too quite for my taste and wondering if anyone can suggest a brand of slip ons that have more of the harley sound that i was hoping for. I know i can change the baffles but i can't get any body from v and h to help. Would appreciate some help. thanks

I have always found V&H to be very responsive. Pull the muffler off and see if you can remove the baffle without grinding a weld off. Many of there mufflers have interchangeable baffles.

Thanks for responding fellas! I have talked to two people at v and h and neither can tell me about replacing baffles. I am assuming i have the new quite baffles as the bike is not much different than stock. And if you guys might know what type of baffle i can ask for to get the old sound would be great. I have a 2006 softail standard with v and h and it sounds awesome!!

don't they have something that is called a "performance baffle?" Also, I would talk to your dealer to see what it that V&H has available. Doesn't mean that you have to buy from the dealer but the dealer should be able to get you pointed in the right direction..

Look at the V&H web site and look up your mufflers and check to see if your model muffler even has replacement baffles. Some do some don't.

These are about the best sound mufflers I've heard. I turned a buddy onto Fuelmoto and he go the 4.5 and used them on his streachd bag SE SG.
He had a brand new set of V&H on and took them off and put the Pro Touring on.

    Jackpot Pro Touring mufflers

They sound 10 times better than the video clip too.

Get ride of the header pipe, it has the Cat converter inside of it. Fullsac or V&H header pipe. You will really notice a huge difference in sound once the cat is gone. I just replaced mine and I'm running V&H mufflers, very big difference in sound.

For get the slip ons, try going with the whole setup, that way you can get the true sound. I just put the vance and hines Big shots on my 2012 RK, they aren't quite. Just My two cent's. Of course it did cost me a pretty pennie for that whole set up. Big Sucker air and a screaming eagle super tuner.

They do, but don't you gain a little on the top end?

If you want to gain on bottom end and on top end, get a 2in1 pipe like a supertrapp
YOu are not going to notise enough on top end with true duals.
If you are lookin for extra power , look at a Cam.

I have noticed a slight change in my lower end, but I was looking for the sound. I like the look of the Vance and Hines, they are a little loud if you twist the throttle hard, but once you are up and cruising they sound great. But I do appreciate what you are saying.

Have you noticed any loss in MPG's? I been thinking about switching out my header pipes to V&H power duals as well as the high output slip on but I heard once its dialed in (race tuner)you could lose up to 10 MPG?

I hope Maddog does not mind but here is a pic of his and my bike at the grand canyon, last month. We have virtually the same setup now on our SE 110 bikes. On our trip he consistently got better mileage than I did. He had the SE tuner and mine was just stock with just mufflers added. I have now put the V&H head pipe on and SE Tuner and had the download of his put into my bike as they are virtually the same. Tomorrow on mine I'll be able to know about fuel mileage. Maddog and I'll be headed up to the Volcano MT Saint Helen's. I think as always it really depends on who tunes your bike. I know getting ride of the cat sure made it flow better.

I'm sure Maddog has a better pic of his bike but not sure if he can upload from his Ipad ImageUploadedByTapatalk1341105455.903783.jpg .

Very cool and thanks. I know beggers can't be chosers but I was looking for a profile shot..carb side to see how the system you guys have on looks.

My bike is white and I was wanting to go with the black header pipe and black slip on. And it sounds like the race tuner is the way to go too.
