This isn't a very long trip we'll be taking today, about 120 miles total, but there will be some interesting stuff going on when we get there. The Biker Barn is a business that works on Harleys, and sells parts.
The owner throws this party every year and this will be my first one. There will be a pig pickin', soft drinks & low power beer, raffles, prizes, and a bike show we can enter. It's a family oriented affair so should be a good time to be had by all.
The weather today will be perfect, although breezy. Should be about a dozen or so of us riding up. Tattoo is taking his pickup because he has a designated driver to bring him home. LOL.
I figure to enter my bike in the show. Also will be replacing all the rocker arm seals on site as I've developed a leak on one. As a temporary fix, yesterday I put a FAUCET WASHER in to replace the defective one (no kidding) and it's not leaking so far. It's very nearly the right size and should get me there . . . LOL.

I'll be surprised if you don't take a prize. Although NC riders love their hardtails I've noticed. Roads aren't like California or the Northeast

SOB...I've stayed in Bloomsburg a couple times. Thats my usual route out of the NE and heading west. I've stayed on Bloom-town and never have known about that. Hope to check out next time I'm that way. Thats about a day out for me..350-400 miles.

    Have you been there?

The Biker barn was a good time. Only saw one H.A., and a few southern bike clubs all wearing their colors. I didn't enter the show as I just didn't feel up to paying $10 for the priviledge.

Here's a question I have about the Neil Young song "Motorcycle Mama". Tryin' to figure out what the lyric is in the first line:
Motorcyle Mama won't you lay your big (BLANK) down . . . sounds like "spike", but that makes no sense. Anybody know what he wants mama to lay down?

I'm learning this song to play at Tattoo's girl friend's birthday party gig in November. She is one tough lady and a good friend.

    Here ya go:

NEIL YOUNG LYRICS - Motorcycle Mama

You are right bro, it doesn't make any sense I would think he could have used "Bike" rather than "spike"????

Thanks Fatboy. I rewrote sections of the last verse. I take liberties with other's songs when it suits my purposes. Here's what I wrote and will sing at the lady's b-day party:

Well, I'm here to tell ya, mama
Ain't no need for you to go my bail.
    I just escaped late night
    From the Halifax County Jail.
My motor's revved up and I'm ready to go
Jump on, mama, and we'll burn some road.
Motorcycle Mama, won't you lay your big spike down.

    (With apologies to Mr. Young).

Man, what the heck is a "big spike"??? Ya changed other words why not get rid of spike? I bet he slipped and it should have been Bike! You know, he probably have too many hits on a bong before the show.

I think I just figured it out: the big spike is a syringe full of heroin. He used to be an addict.

Dude everybody seems to think you got to ride the farthers trip to go on a Ride.
A ride is a Ride. If its 30 miles or 100 miles. Its a Ride, and you are doing something. And it will be a enjoyable day
Don't let anybody bust yer chops cause you only do a 100 mile ride.
    Thats a great ride.

Oh yeah, it was a very enjoyable day, and of course, the best part was the riding. With me it always is, no matter how long or short.:D

Was wondering how the bike barn ride was and how you did in the competition.

Neil Young..one of my favorites. Old man,Harvest moon, needle and the damge done,Cinimon girl,Southern man,Heart of gold, onnly love can break your heart and so many more. Can you play the harmonica at the same time too?

"A ride" for many is to the local H2O hole. A rides a ride a ride a ride?

Yep, I play the harp, too . . . I have about 4500 miles on the bike since January, so I haven't exactly been sittin' around. The really good riding season is pretty much over for me, which starts in March and ends in October. There will be days here and there in the off months to ride, but I generally don't like riding when it gets below 50.

Harp & guitar (or piano) at the same time, yes. I've yet to see ANYbody sing & play the harp at the same time, though!:roflmao:
