    Today there's a Biker Rodeo in Wilson, N.C. Chance of thunderstorms this afternoon - but I'm saddling up, boys. Should arrive about 9 AM, when the festivities begin. Never been to a "biker" rodeo and don't know what to expect. Tattoo is already there staying at a nearby campground. I may ride out with John, who works for Tattoo. He has a 46 knucklehead & 2 shovels. We should all have a blast.

    Will post mucho photos when I get back today. :D

    Pretty eventful day overall, but not much at the rodeo itself. Some of the old timers said a lot of the fun events were eliminated. They said every year it gets more commercial and less fun. $45 for full access to vendors & campground, which I thought a bit steep. Rodeo was sponsored by Easyriders.

    Met some new friends and enjoyed watching a lot of bikes going to and fro. There were many ATVs, but very few bikes in the campground area. In the entire venue, I saw only 1 flathead, 1 knucklehead, 2 panheads and 3 shovels including mine out of countless bikes. Kinda disappointing. The music was all head banger (which I personally dislike). No class acts. Sorry for some of the negative comments, but that's how I saw it, boys. It just felt like there was something missing. Like heart.

    Anyway, here are a few pics I took, including one of my bud Tattoo.

    Had a great time riding out and back in the evening, about a 100 miles, though I got caught in the rain for about the last 15 miles on the way home. Got a little cleaning up to do today!

    P.S. I took a wrong turn on the way out. Seems I always do this when I ride. Now the boys have officially dubbed me "Wrong Way Josh".:D

    "More commercial and less fun" seems to be the direction events like this have been taking the last number of years,that's why I quit going to stuff like that...More of a fashion show and "look at me" weekend warrior events... you'd think there would have been more old iron there... $45. does seem a little steep...
    Glad you had a good time anyway,Wrong Way J...LOL

    Oh yeah, nice pics BTW:cool::D

    Thanks for the pix Wrong Way. $45 is steep! Head banger music seems to be taking over, I'm not a fan either. Even some of the automotive shows on TV I had to give up do to the crappy, loud "music".

    Did have a great adventure though, complete with rain and everything. Bike is all shined up now and I'm ready to go out for an afternoon ride. The guys ribbed me about keeping my bike clean, too. I was wiping mud off it at the rodeo. There was mud and water everywhere. The mud stank like sewage. Well, the event was held at a fairgrounds, so we figured there was animal poop mixed in with the mud. Ugh!

    Sounds like you had a good day, I went on a memorial ride for a young guy, left a wife and 6 yr old girl. You and I often have our bikes in amongst the baggers. Thats ok, hope your rides are good

    Sounds good. Gives me a year to save up for it and plan. It's about 190 miles from where I live - a good day's ride for this ol' man - I'll only be a few months away from 70 (gulp) by then. Maybe I could get somebody local to go with me.

    Yeah, the girls . . . well, from what I saw earlier it was slim pickin's. :rolleyes: I left early, about 6:30 in the evening. It just didn't seem like there was gonna be much going on, and besides, my back was tellin' me it was time to hit the road.
