Today the Colorado Confederation Of Clubs, US Defenders and COIR (Coalition Of Independent Riders) had the first Bikers at the State Capitol in Denver, there will be something on youtube a little later. Good turn out 44 different Clubs were represented,
We rode from Colorado Springs to Denver this morning it was 34 degrees when we left, at 20 miles north of home we hit dense fog for the next 30 miles and the temperature dropped to the high 20's, then warmed up to the mid 40's. Finally warmed up to near 50 by the time we headed home, with a 25 mph tail wind and sunshine it was a nice ride home. All's Good!! :D

The politicians don't look too comfortable being next to all that black leather. Ha! What was the big gathering there for anyway?

Actually the COC had been planning this ride for a long time. It was to show our legislators that we do care about our rights and that we do vote.
The "safety check stops" was the main topic this time, we hope to make it a yearly event. I'm not sticking up for the representatives but they didn't have to come out and meet with us, but they did. Our leading Unit commander and COIR commander have been going to the capitol ever Thursday for quite a while and talking to these guys about puting this together, COIR made them Honorary members and some actually ride. The were only 2 big group of riders in our state not represented, HOG and the Hells Angels, go figure.

Don't worry Cowboy. Hells Angels, Banditos, etc. don't petition for their rights on the Capitol steps. They wouldn't be caught dead around those places.

sorry, but the Bandidos were there.
US Defenders program was started by Gimmi Jimmy, president of one of the Bandidos chapter in Texas.. I believe he is also State Chairman of the Texas COC.

and the HA's were in the Colorado COC until last year when there was some trouble with one of their support clubs don't know any of the details on why they droped out

I don't know about any of the Denver HOG Chapters but the Sons and the Bandidos both came to the last HOG meeting in Colorado Springs and invited them to join the event. The weather was cold and foggie maybe that's why none showed up, I did see HOG at a Sons event today.
