We have over 7,600 members but it seems only a small fraction of that number ever post on the forum. I thought that was intersting . . .

    Hey now Josh Bob.

Thats pretty normal..this place gets pretty good traffic and interaction I think. Do you resally want it as big as HD forum or other monster forums. Yeah thats great for the $$ of the owner/admins but you get lost in the shuffle as a poster. And the big forums are ban crazy. The female mod over on HD forum demands that you kiss her arse and eat a mmile of her sh*t to see where it comes from, she's crazy. She must be chap sticking the owner/admin.

Here, one doesn't have to conform to the ruling bodies train of thought. Thats refresing to be allowed an opinion regardless of how squed its perceived. I still don't understand why one poster can't tell another poster to F'off? Ever disagreed in a bar...thats what happens, lol.

well even we have rules, generally it'd be a whack on yer hands unless
someone gets way out of line, most forums don't want pissing contests
name calling and such going on, thats what bars are for LOL

    no popcorn shooters here...

There was a time before Ken changed things that us Mods were hard at work and busy keeping up with these spammers. As for regular members it has not been to bad with just a few tempers.
As for the number of registered members on here with only a small percentage that participates. I wonder sometimes if they see us as a to close knit family and they don't feel like they would be welcome. Course we all know that they are I just feel some may think that way.
I do think that there has been on a few occasions where we could be a bit more tolerant of a new poster. There have been a small few that have left because of that.

I will never forget that lttle snafu with one of the other members when I was fairly new to the forum . I have visited some of the other bike forums and they are quite big. Perhaps one of the reasons other members don't chime in as often is because it does take a block of time out of one's day to do so. I usually have time to spare so it's not a problem for me.

All I can say is that not all people want to be apart of the "community" I use different forums for different needs. I use forums primarily to find out about parts. If I happen to make a few friends along the way, which I have, so be it, but it is not my main intention.

My opinion on the lack of regulars is that many (self included) come here with a problem. Usually it gets solved thanks to the regulars. Then poof, they no longer feel the need to stick around. I think a very minute reason some dont stick around May be the political viewpoint that us regulars seem to be in unison on.

Not necessarily here but a lot of sites are so PC, folks have learned to just watch and not join in. It's a shame because I think the more opinions the more robust they could be. I'm not too much of a wrench on bikes so can't give a lot of info to participate but I sure can have an opinion. It does seem like an opinion is now the new taboo thing on some sites.

I'm a member at SigForum, there are 76,000 plus members, at any time there are hundreds posting and a lot from the same people, old timers, regulars etc, HTT, Road Glide, all those forums have a base, some participants and others that just lurk and read...

Don't misinterpret non participation in posts for viewership.

Remember theres a voyeur in everyone... :cyclops:

I'm a member on many other forums, mostly gun related and opinions really fly in some of those. I have also noticed a lot of immaturity in some of those forums and stay away from those. I think what bothers me the most here is when a member continually beats a post to death with many if not hundreds of posts that just seem to be void of real content. I
I know we sometimes get off track on a thread here and that happens a lot especially when the meaning of a thread seems to carry on to much. We also have some fun with certain threads that are not even motorcycle related but it seems to break the humdrum a bit and I see that on many other forums as well.

I think we have a great forum here. I just happened to stumble on it one day looking for some answers to bike related problems. My bike would not be running now without the help of my bike talk brothers. And I feel I have made many friends here since then, too.

Seen enough to say that this is probably the mildest board I've
    been on regardless of topic.

Heck the wildest stuff that happens is Fatboy falls and is drinking bourbon...

Noticed your temp in New York at 26º. That sucks when it's also 26º clear down here in the south land!

    Check that. Now it's 24º.

Be a pretty boring place if we all thought the same...A little confrontation is healthy...We all have ideas and thoughts to share and not everyone will like them...Well TFB...That is the way the world is...

Agree with you ... just stumbled on this one day just googling for some help on something. I am not a great wrench like someone else said, but with some help I get by. Enjoy the opinions and have seldom seen anyone seem to take anything too seriously. Even when I am busy and not on for a few days, feels familiar and good to get back on....
