What manufacturers can provide cermic coated pipes for an FXDXI Dyna. I presently have stock black satin add-on mufflers from HD w matching pipe covers. The sound is too "meek".

The local HD dealer said they could not remove the baffles in the muffler since they are welded in and prformance would be lost if baffles were removed.

This was an extra to add the black HD mufflers when I bought the bike about 6 months ago. I am a new biker and did not realize how soft the sound would be.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

a quick google search will get you tons of hits........keep in mind, any changes you make to the exhaust will mean some tweaking of the carb/injectors......to keep perormance at a premimum...if all you want is noise.....take a pointed steel rod to the baffles......that will get you noise!!!!!! remember......loud pipes save lives...... :D

    There are others.

You mentioned ceramic coatings which is a thermal barrier coating. Some coatings are for looks and not for thermal barrier performance. Either type isok, it just depends on your goals: heat containment or appearance.

Check out UV Powder Coating techniques with a Google search and read up on this somewhat new process for coating parts that are sensitive to the normal type of powercoating which uses heat. The UV powder coating process uses UV rays and not heat. This process is still under constant development. I don't know how well it works but it appears promising for cylinders and heads, especially.
