This has been a little while ago now but the last time I had to do some work on the Sporty, actually when I was tracking down that leak coming from the breather tube, when I put it back together I noticed that my right rear turn signal doesn't blink...:gah: The indicator light comes on, but doesn't blink either. Don't understand this one, it worked before I took it apart, but not when I put it back together????:wtf:

Have you checked the bulb? I had a bulb that would work sporadically, changed it from one side to the other did the same thing, I just replaced the bulb, end of problem. Could be a bad wire or bulb socket.

I haven't really checked anything yet but now that Hot Rider is riding it more I suppose I better fix it. I have just been using hand (arm) signals. Ok, I will check the bulb and see what is happening there. :D Thank You my friend!:)

If the bulb is good sense thing were apart check for a pinched wire.

Could be a bulb, or bad ground, or cut wire, or improper oil in the blinker wires.

Are you running Redline Rear turn signal oil, you have to run the red, also
if you are running syn Bulb oil the electric signal might slip on the synthetic and
because it slips it cannot gain traction and never reaches the bulb.

You might want to check the blinker oil and change back to a dyno oil...

    Simple to check out.

    1) Remove Lens on offending TS (Nobody asked so I will, is the other TS on that side working or are both out...)

    2) Remove Bulb - check filament, if broken, replace. Install and check, if it works
    have a beer.

    3) If its not broken (bulb that is) turn on bike and turn on signals for that side
hook up digital multi meter and touch black to a known good ground like a bolt on
the frame. Now touch positive lead (red) to one of the small round dots in the bottom
of the TS housing, if it doesn't give you are reading of about 12v, then none, then 12 then none, then 12, then none, (it's a TS voltage is on/off) then try the other lead in the housing, just to be sure you did not get the ground.

If you have no Voltage at the housing, move back to the next connector in series, open connector, check TS wire with meter, if you have voltage then it's either in the connector or harness between the bulb and where you found power.

Just keep working back until you find power, then you have the place to
    start working..

Well, then you have half the work to do JB.

Start at the bulb with a meter and work back
    to power...

If you don't have a multi meter go to lowes or hd
and get a digital multi meter, you don't need a $100
one, just get the least expensive digital (or Harbor Freight)

Not hijacking the thread but Minnesota does not require turn signals, kind of unbelievable.

If anyone is interested here is a state by state listing for required equipment for a motorcycle.

Of course to be Mr. El-cheapo for testing.

Move bulb from side that works to side
that doesn't and visa versa, if the problem
moves from one side to the other - bad bulb

If it stays with the side, your bulb isn't bad
but you have a wire problem...

I've seen some bulbs that look good but are not. I would just take the multimeter and check the ground and hot points for bulb, course make sure power is on and blinker is turned on.
