The front fairing speakers on my '05 FLHTC need to be replaced. Does anyone know what the impedence is on the '05, and also what is the difference between the '05 and '06 speakers?

Not looking to upgrade the factory radio or install an amp, any suggestions on replacement speakers would be appreciated.

    Aloha....Mike

YOu have the harmon Kardon setup factory correct?

I would just post on some boards for baggers that you want to buy stock speakers
tons are out there, I think it's one or two ohm for HD speakers.

BTW look at getting a set of the Boom HD speakers from HD, they put out a lot better sound, they are on my CVO and buddy put a pair on his stock RG, sound much better and just bolt in...

I checked 05 and the speakers fit (listed above) 98 tot 05, there was a change in 06, so if you need speakers you need to use 05 and before.

So I guess the short answer is no, there was a change in 06

TY HRK...thats just the kind of suggestion I was looking for.

I just placed my order for the Boom speakers with Surdyke HD for $135 plus shipping.

    Aloha....Mike

I assume I have to open up my fairing in order to remove the factory speakers?

Also would like to add. The Hog Tunes speakers are really good choices also. 2 ohms. A friend just put them in his 2013 E.G. Sound fantastic.

Just don't be like some dudes. Go on a ride and some guys have their music cranked up so loud that everyone their riding with can hear it. One guy I know cranks it up like that and if yea stop like at a light he will pull up either behind you or worse yet right beside you with his music on full blast. Once he did that to me so I turned a FM channel on that was playing classical music and it just happened to be a women singing opera. I cranked it up as loud as I could get it. He got the message. :D

Somtimes I like to just blast it and other times I don't want the music on at all, just want to hear my motor. I always adjust my volume to my speed and lower it at stops. Its just nice to now have the abilty to hear my sounds clearly at highway speeds.

    Aloha...Mike

I can appreciate this. I don't listen to my radio all the time either, especially now that I am in the break in period of the new engine. Doesn't your radio have the ability to increase or decrease volume on its own with road noise?? I bought new larger speakers from J&M last season but haven't installed them yet. I have to get some adapters first. Glad you enjoy the new tunes.
