Hi , I have a 2005 Softail Deluxe FLSTNI that I bought this past March. The bike came with 2 into 1 Supper Trap exhaust system and hi-flow A/F.
I just changed the pipes to the 2 into 2 Freedom Performance Amendment full exhaust. The bike came setup as a stage -1 and runs great except for one annoying problem.

With the old pipes and the new pipe when I let off the gas I’m getting popping like I have a passenger playing the bongo’s.
I bought a new SE Super Turner with cables and software and tried making adjustment to the decel enleanment thinking less gas might help.
Going leaner did little and when I got very lean it made it worse so I tried going the other way (I’m at 0.102 at this time) but again it does not seem to make much difference.

So I’m looking for some suggestions I’m new with the tuner not sure how finite the adjustment should be, attached are current settings for the decel and air-fuel ratio. [Looks like I got the attachment to stick this time]

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thank You,

    Bestdog

The fuel injector solenoids should be completely off when decel. down to 2,000 rpm. At 2,000 rpm the injectors open slightly to keep motor running and you will get a very small popping, but there should be no popping above 2,000.

I don't know much about EFI tuning, but sounds like you're running lean or have exhaust leaks or both....maybe it's not decel that needs to be fattened...
Your attachment doesn't show...if you can post your AFR chart,I'm sure someone could help you out...:D

If the popping wasn't there with the previous ex. sytem,Look for loose or damaged headpipe gaskets(sucking fresh air inti pipes) or loose, leaking pipe clamps.

Like they said. Hope ya used new exhaust gaskets?! Also, lean burn canusuallycauses popping on decel. Could be that the dual exhaust reduced any back pressure and scavenging that the 2 into one had going for it.

Okay so I'm not popping at 2,000 and below so sounds like that's why the decel adjustments where having little to no affect above 2,000.

    Thanks

I was getting the popping with the 2 into 1 pipes and i did use new gaskets.
I'm new with F/I but the A/F settings on my attached SE super tuner A/F map are 14.1 at the highest. But like I said I’m new with Fuel injection, if anyone sees an adjustment I should make to it I'll try it.
