Bought a CV carb, what other parts do I need?

I have a 1988 FLHTC, all 100% stock, and I've been having trouble since I bought it,(used, wrecked), with the carburetor "spitting" when at crusing RPM. It runs fine at idle and when giving it throttle. It has the stock Keihin butterfly carb on it, and today I bought a CV carb on eBay for it. I intend to rebuild it, and I realize I'm gonna need a different manifold for it, or an adapter of some kind, but what about support for it? Will an air cleaner for the CV bolt to the heads like my butterfly carb did, or is there a separate support bracket for it? Anyone know what else I'm gonna need to get this going, and any recommendations on where to get the parts for it? I'm more interested in getting it running well, than spending a lot of money on brand new shiny chrome, or performance parts, used parts are great with me.
Can anyone help me out with this? I don't know a whole lot about these newer bikes, my daily driver, at this point, is my 1960 FLH:cool:
    Thanks,
    Snyde

You'll have to use 90-up cables from a similar model. Your air cleaner backing plate will have to be modified because the CV bolt pattern is different, or get an aftermarket carb support bracket from V-Twin or somebody. I got mine from Fog Hollow. I was lucky enough to get the carb, intake, various small parts, & a Screamin' Eagle air cleaner all in one box for $100 from my indy shop guy. Check my previous posts, I think I even have pictures from when I did the swap on my '85 Evo Wideglide. You're gonna love the difference when you're done with this project!

I've got an evo Scream'n eagle air filter system with backing plate filter, I believe it's all there except the filter cover, I'm using it on my TC, the cover from your stock carb will work. If your interested let me know and I'll make sure it is all there, send me a private message.

A '90-'92 air cleaner assembly would be a bolt on replacement...'93 up are head breathers, so the bolt holes to the head are larger, but can be made to work...a 90-up CV manifold and flanges and 90-95 throttle cables...it's a worthwhile upgrade to make and you'll be glad you did:)

Im just assuming you have a 1340 EVO but no matter if the bike was dumped it could have messed up the cam pos/attitude sensor prob around a $250 part. its the part that saves the engine during a dump and is affected in high heat or just the opposite but it is easy to change out any battery issues?

Yes it's a 1340, and no it wasn't dumped. The previous owner had an accident with it, some "blue hair" pulled out in front of him and he hit her. It messed the front end up and bent the frame, but the drive train is ok, and I got the bike for pennies on the dollar, with a regular,(not salvage) title. I replaced the frame, front end, and fairing and have been driving it for 10 years or so. No problem with that sensor. I've made the conversion from the Keihin butterfly to a CV carb fuel system and the bike has NEVER run better!! It's something I should have done years ago!!
