I have a 03 softail standard and i put a set of chrome switch covers on it and everything was great for 4 months. I guess the switch went out of the front hand brake and caused the tail light to be brighter than usual. The back brake light switch still works fine but nothing on the front brake switch. i pulled off the cover and it seemed that the switch might be bad or broken wire. I can live with a bighter tail light but the problem is it burns out the bulbs way to fast. Does anyone know how to fix or just unhook the front brake switch if you can even do it?

the switch is not very pricey, and can be replaced pretty easily if you take your time, and follow the manual. while the front brake is illuminating your brake light, there will be no rear brake light, so nobody knows when you are stopping, could get a bit tricky at stop lights and such. the front switch can be eliminated..just follow the wiring diagram in your manual and trace where the switch ties in
