I'd say they owe him new bolts, and a wheel plus anything that was broken, probably won't get a new bike out of it unless he can make a case it's unsafe or get a lawyer to help him.

I'd make sure everything is lined up properly and bolted together, loctite etc.

Rode with a friend where the bolts backed out of a pulley and they had locktite on them, wheel was tapped and rebolted, never had a problem again, then he sold it for a new RK.

Imagine he'll feel everything being odd after the experience, it can make you a little gun shy.

You could say the bikes got a guardian angel on it, he didn't go down and get hurt, kinda a half or full half empty question.

    It happens on baggers too

Pulled into a indy shop with a dyno last Thr...Heard a funny noise in the back as I pulled in..wheel tried to lock up for a sec...
Heard a similar thing as I got off the freeway ...moments before...
The wrench took a ride and made it 30ft with a 10 ft skid mark...as the last pulley bolt hit the swingarm...
End result...wrecked the hub and pulley and bolts. I suspect the chrome bolts on the E bay mag whel were substandard...
    >
It would seem like asking for the moon...asking for a new bike....
My 06 St bob blew up and they blamed me...GOOD LUCK...!!!
