For a few years my Bucket List includes me riding my scooter down to the Sunshine State to visit with big bro. and attending one of the bike weeks there on my own bike. Being out of work for almost 3 years I really wanted to do it however, out of respect for the worring wife, I wouldn't do it alone. Finding a compatable biker has been very difficult. Now that I took the job with the home improvement chain a fellow biker and very compatable riding partner decides to ride down for Biketoberfest! Damn!!!! So I formally requested the week off (I am told zero chance of that happening). Seems I gotta beg and/or come up with a good excuse. Maybe I gotta have a brain repair?!? Not too far from the truth! :D

I can sometimes get away with: "I'm gonna have a broken leg, so I need a week off in about 3 weeks!" LOL!

Jobs are sooo hard to find, as you know, so hang tough, buddy. I'm sure another opportunity will come along, maybe sooner than you think.

I'd ride with ya. I've discovered to my dismay that I can maybe go only a couple hundred miles a day because of my back. You'd have to take 2 weeks off if we rode together!:D

On my Bucket List is making it up to MountainCruiser's territory and ride the Blue Ridge Mountains with him AND see the Wheels Thru Time Museum. I would probably have to set aside a week to 10 days to do it.

You was out of work for almost 3 years and after two weeks being employed you want off? Get a grip buck-o. Unless you want to be one of Obama's group of give me give clan you best show up to work and smile. It just amazes me how people can take without giving like they do.:witsend: At least you did ask and not just vanish. You will have plenty of time for that and you will enjoy yourself much more knowing you still have a job.:D

You take me too seriously and if you think that I'm a obama taker ya can just kiss my butt. A job is a time filler for me. Fact is I don't need the cash but it always helps. I have let other jobs go to others who need them more. I don't need no lectures.

sorry, I was playing on your "some help" post and with a number of us "helping" you not to go to biketoberfest. I was thinking Bike Week in the spring would be better but then I forgot one thing..you guys get snow too. I'll work on the line delivery and as you can tell, comedy isn't my long suit.
I remember about 15 years ago I saw a shirt at Sturgis. "We're from the government and we're here to help" I got a chuckle out of that shirt.
