Got a buddy that is Chucktx age that traded his 01 ultra that had a 95" kit on it, for a 12 Road Glide. The fever with everbody talkin about it got to him

He came riding in at the Hilltop Icehouse yesterday. I was there with a buddy from Sour Lake Texas I rode with.
My buddy Bud came riding in. He had a full face helmet on. Never in my life seen him with a helmet on.
1st thing out of his mouth was this short dark windshield will blow yer head off.
    In so many words

    You can't ride without a***** ***** helmet.
The dealer has to put a tall windshied on or I'm giving it back.
2nd thing that came out of his mouth.

Man on Man do I miss my tourpac. What was I thinkin.
He had 45 miles on it.
I asked him how he liked the 103, he said man for a stock bike it pulls hard....:D

JMO but,I think for 20+K$ Harley should give you the choice of windshields on a new Touring bike. 'would be a nice touch for sales.

    HD windscreens suck.

Tell him to contact Doug (owner) at Windvest

    WindVest | Products

if he's over 6 foot tall then a 14 inch will do the trick
if he's like JB then a 12 inch....

I have the 15 inch on mine in Dark Smoke, buddy has the 15
light smoke, another has a 13 inch, (he's like JB) everyone with the
WV is very happy, the curve up top works great, much better than
Klock Werks or clearview and way less expensive.

Not so sure he likes what he bought. He wasn't happy with the bikes fairing at all.
All I heard him do is complain. He was there for several beers.

He is a retired Director from a super large company. He probably paid cash for it.
He can walk in just as easy and trade it in on another bike.
REalize he had a Electra Glide Ultra. He's already missing it dude.

    He had like 4 bikes.
If he don't like something, its gone.
He lives in a big neighbor hood that has a security guard just to git in.
And its on the lake. So property and houses are real expensive

You're kidding about this fella, right? I would like to think that before you go out and buy something you at least try it out before you buy. You don't get to be a director and all the "good life" that goes with it by being stupid yet it would appear that he didn't do enough homework..too bad for him. Especially coming off an Electra Glide, which will allow some buffeting given the right wind conditions [it is windy here]..move the screen another foot in front of you and it just gets worse, All I did for my new bike was to lower it..short legs and get on it and ride it. Being around for "several beers" is ok. I hope he didn't get on the bike and ride it after, that would have been another brain cramp and he's had enough already.

For like the past 3 yrs there has been a Road Glide fever. I rode them on and off trying them out for 3 yrs. Nearly bought one.
But got off a SE Road Glide and got on a Street Glide. Felt right then that I knew I didn't want a RG.
Test driving one wasn't enough. The demo days don't let you go very fast

And he has buddy's that ride them.
But I'm seeing folks git the fever that the grass if better on the other side.
They go out and buy one and within a year trade it in on something else.

I'm just used to trying them at Sturgis..go as fast as you want..don't whine if you get nailed by the law. If I was serious about a bike my dealer would..and has, given me a bike for the afternoon. The follow the leader factory rides aren't great. Once I get the new limited to run a little cooler, i'll be set..it is a sweet motorcycle..goes good for a smogger.

    I got a 11 Limited myself.
Worst thing about a new motorcycle is its tight when its new and it puts more heat off. You need 5000 miles on them.

I got rid of my catalyst converter right off the bat.
Got a fuelmoto stainless steel header pipe. the heat shields that come off yer factory pipes don't fit perfect. But close enough.

The fuelmoto pipes has both the 12mm Lamda sensors and the 18mm sensors

AT 1st I put plugs in the 18mm holes. and ran it with the stock air cleaner and stock pipes.
Then I got a Thunder-Max. Had to go t a Tech forum to help alter the map for me to git better fuel milage.
I left the 12mm sensors in and put the 18mm Wide Band sensors in for the TM.
Got a Ventalator high flow air filter from a Buddy that took it off his Screaming Eagle. YOu don't have to oil the filter. You can git the cleaner at the HD dealer. Spray it, let it sit for 5 minutes and take the water hose and use light water and wash it down and let it dry.

Then got me some Supertrapp Stouts for a 09 bike. They are quieter.
And take about 5 months to break in,.
Buddy with the SE SG got the same setup as me, but he got the fuelmoto
4.5 pro tuned exhaust mufflers. Got to admit they do sound good

I'm gittin a fever for the fuelmoto 2in1 header and mufflers.
    They look wicked man,

And they come with a lifetime warranty

I haven't had a Harley other than my Heritage that I kept the
windshield stock, and that one because the Corbin dropped me
down an inch or so behind it.
