Rumor maybe but I was at the dealer the other day and he was saying that Buell might be back under the Harley name. Hope so. I would like to see the bike back.

I wouldn't doubt that in the least. It's the Corp America way. Screw the little guy that gets it started and make money on their ideas. I told a friend that Harley would probably do this. They can't afford to get rid of their "sport" bike line when that is the next generation.

No real reason to screw Erik Buell,

HD owned all the stock, he was simply an employee....

They could do whatever they want...

Fact is that Buells are overpriced for the market (you can buy a 600 Ricer that is faster for less)
And the finance market dried up so kids can't buy the bikes.

Deal was you'd get a 10K limit visa, buy a $8K 600 Yama, then you would have a clear title bike. At that point you can put liability only on the insurance, these kids can't afford to finance it with a bank and pay full coverage, the insurance would be more than the bike payment, maybe even double.

Insurance rates and lack of financing killed it..

Lack of sales killed it in my opinion. Your right over priced but so are the full HD line up. HD could stand to hold their prices a bit more and slim down as they are doing. Buell could be a really good selling product and your right the financing market is pretty tight now so that is really hurting not only the regular HD line up but Buell as well. I still can't believe that our dealership Latus Motors here in Portland was the number one Buell dealer in sales in the U.S.

Bought a Blast for my wife to start on, she liked it to learn on.

Buddy got a Buell was it a B89X and i run it up to 130mph

Bike handled and ran great. Rand smooth and the response was great.

Met a lot of people that owned Buells and rode them a lot.
Had no complains for the price they paid for them.
And was statin they got great fuel milage.

And while talkin about racin, Buell 1125 out of the box at the races didn't place too bad in the races on the track.

Yer step Son Ricky was behind me with his OL's Mustang GT tryin to catch me.
We both would of gotten tickets.

We came back from up Berts area at Texas V-Twins.

    No tickets man.
I was lucky that day .

I wanted to see what the bike had in it.
That was Ricky's 1st bike, and he gave it to his OL.
If my wife could of touched the ground in it I would of bought it.

Talked with a very knowledgeable guy at Latus Motors today and he told me that Buell with Harley is dead. He said they are selling off the equipment this week. And that Erick, has a 15 month no compete clause but come this fall or the 1st of 2011 something with Buell may change as in new production or something.
