    Hi guys I am David.
I'm looking at buying a new bike. When i researched the internet I came across a brand called "Atomik". I have never heard of them and i was just wondering if any of you guys have heard of them and could tell me how good/reliable those motorbikes are.
    Thank you!

Regardless of politics, the bikes being manufactured in China would be the deal-breaker for me. The South Koreans have caught & in some fields passed the Japanese in terms of quality & lower price for a better product, but the Chinese haven't & it'll probably be quite some time before their quality level is competitive. Assuming you're looking for a good dirt bike, it is "you get what you pay for" now.

To my knowledge, the biggest fault with the Chinese bikes is the quality of their steel alloys. It just isn't strong enough to bet my backside on when riding on tough ground. They will likely improve over time, but if you really want to ride with confidence, you should pay for a proven product.

There is also the parts support issue to consider, as they are not that well established and may disappear in the future, and then come back rebranded and totally incompatible with their current models. If cheap is the way you want to go, you'd better be able to do a whole lot of your own work, such as chain/sprocket mods and small engine repair. Frankly, the money saved is very likely to not make up for later headaches.

In 10 years, the Chinese bikes may be equal to the best out there...but now ain't then.

From what I heard, there is approximately 600 Chinese scooter manufactures importing to the US. Most of these companies produce about 1,000 bikes on average and then disappear. They do this to stay under the radar of the EPA but try to get a warranty claim .... forget about it.

You want to by cheap bike, go ahead, just don't come crying to us when it breaks down.

Kinda reminds me of the Junks (boats) in China and there probably just like em, Junk. Plus why support the Chinese :cussing:, support the USA, buy a Harley.

    Last I checked, H-D doesn't make dirt bikes :D

That of course, is a mistake, as is promoting the Sportster as a "starter" bike, which it certainly isn't - especially the new ones @ 583 lbs.

Better than Chinese junk besides all his buddies would then want one then. But if yea got to have a dirt bike than there are a lot of good used Japanese bikes out there that will do very well. :D

I just hate giving out more US dollars to the Chinese.

I just bought one of those Chinese scooters for the grand kids to learn to ride on - from a company out of Dallas,TX. - It has a 1 year warranty on the frame and body and a 6 months warranty on the engine. 49cc engine. Only got about 10 miles on it but it seems to be a pretty good little bike.
The company has parts in stock and a service dept. - so for the money I think the deal was pretty good - less than 700 total and if it only lasts two years I fiqure it's worth it.
I really didn't want to buy chinese but the Japanese bikes have gone up in price so much that I really couldn't see investing money in a bike in the 2000 price range for a kid to trash when the money could be better spent in investing in a good used HD down the road when it comes time to buy them a street bike.
The scooter was shipped for free and required some putting together but I was able to have it on the street in about two hours after it was delivered. One thing I did notice was the fit of the body work was sub-standard and that was what took the most time to put together also a bigger hammer did help.:D

That is absolutely just funny! The real ironic thing is Toyota has kicked up their advertising to sell cars. I wonder how they are doing? :roflmao:

I think it is going to harder for Toyota . Heard on the news tonight that they are re-calling 600,000 of their mini vans now.
