    Hi..
I'm new to this forum, and I thought I would take some advise from some more experienced riders.
I just got my Ls and want to ride from Byron Bay to Perth, but the big question what bike should I buy for a trip like that..
I have a very limited budget.. 2500-3000 $, have you guys got any suggestions?
I have been thinking about a Honda CB250, but is that too small.

How many miles , how much do you weight, how tall are you ? these all come into play when trying to size yourself for a bike ,A 250 is a good starter bike for some & honda ;s are good bikes , But if you 6ft & 200lbs it not a bike for you

I agree with everything said above. Even the Kawy LTD450 I had while a good bike seemed a bit small for long trips such as that, yet it was a very dependable bike and wished I still had it. For me a Honda 750 would be min. but it depends on what you can get for your dollar.

If you are an average size guy I would go older goldwing or venture (yamaha's version of goldwing) they are bigger bikes but are stable and easy to ride. Plus the added comfort should cut down on fatigue and allow you to concentrate on the road. You also get built in storage and don't have to worry about strapping on cargo. These types of bikes are usually owned by older people and thus got regular maintenance and not pounded on like the typical rice burners. Only draw back would be MPG is going to be lower and your new nick name might be Geezer

:hijacked::hijacked: Hey Sarge hijacked our hijacked post - :p

With only $2500-$3000 doesn't leave much room for a hog but should get him a pretty good full size bike.

    Thank you guys.
    Sorry for the late answer.
the trip is about 2700 mile or something like that, I'm a pretty small guy and I need to bring the most basic gear, a sleeping bag and some food.
On the license I have I can ride up to 650 cc, but they can only have small motors.. no more than 210 Hp per ton. So I can't really get the big bikes.
So what I'm after is a small bike that is the best for looooong trips.
I know that a old goldwing or something like that would be good, but they are way way to expensive and the engine i too big.
I know it's kind of hard, but I hope you still have some suggestions... Even if you all ride scooters... hehe
