I was asked by some buddys of mine if I wanted to go to Cabo with them in Sept......sounds good so far huh? so I asked who was driving the chase car?(I thought a truck, some tools and a trailer would be the way to do it) so they said no chase car....okay...who speaks spanish?no one...so here's my train of thought...5 bikes....3 Harleys one Honda and one Yamaha(and just in case you didn't read it I have an 89 FXRP and you bet your ass it has some miles on it) so I figure we have a 60%40% chance that one of them won't make it...oh and I'm the only one that even attemps to work on his bike(they do give me **** for it too...you know"buy a new bike blahblahblah)
Well I am taking a pass on this one but would like to hear what you guys :roflmao: think of this train wreck waiting to happen?

Where is Cabo? Down in Mexico? I don’t think I’d go down that way without some kind of backup plan. I will ride anywhere in the good ol U.S of A. without a chase vehicle though. :biker:

Mexico, no chase vehicle, no backup plan.......no thanks! I agree with KB, I like the good ole U.S. of A. At least I speak the language here, well mostly anyway, it's turning to spanish quickly but you get the point. Can you say train wreck!?!? And these guys don't work on their own bikes?? Count me out....:D

Well I heard the new President of Mexico is wanting to be closer to his people, so he's moving to Phoenix.

Another fellow told me the only reason Mexico never won a gold medal at the olympics is cause all of them that could run, swim or jump had already left the country.

NO disrespect meant to anyone. Some of my best friends are Mex.

None taken from me but, they are disrespectful pretty much everyday around here. Like they own our state and we owe them something......got news for you boys, we don't owe you a f**kin thing. Now start acting respectful. (some of my friends are mex, russian, black, etc., etc., They are just not disrespectful) Sorry, off on a little tangent, I'm back now.

Ps. My sister is married to a Puerto Rican guy, very nice and very respectful!!

Back on topic, I don't drive my truck down into Mexico anymore let alone my Harley. I'm not so worried about getting robbed or jacked down there, but if your bike has a major breakdown then getting your disabled bike back home becomes much more difficult.

JMHO, but your friends are asking for trouble and will only have themselves to blame when they find it.

Ken, one thing I actually learned from my father, and he didn't teach me much....If you don't put yourself in a position, you won't have to get out of it! It's pretty much worked for me, well, almost always worked.....:roflmao:

I've had the distinct pleasure of pushing my bike to a gas station only once...thats all it took. I carry tools with me now, & I'm usually not far from "civilization" when I ride (not much choice around Chicago) , so put me in the middle of nowhere, where I dont speak the language, and a better than 50% chance of problems, & that would more than seal the deal for me...I'd have to vote with the other guys. Take a pass. My first & last time in Mexico my buddies & I almost got jumped, except the big dumb spanish speakin texan we were with heard the guys that were talkin about jumpin us & we shook em. Its a big country, lots to see....Id stay in the U.S.

    Good morning all,

I've been trying to think of a way to say "what are you nuts" to the folks that don't want to go to Mexico with any thing more expensive than Hush Puppys to carry them along.

If you use common sence, don't sweat it; if you don't, you could be chained to a wall in what passes for a jail.
    :puke: :roflmao:

You and your friends may want to start slow and try a few runs down there. Thirty miles South of the Boarder: http://pushrodwear.com/index2.htm
 This is a don't miss it run, great fun for the serious drinker or shopper alike. Beach goers too.

This one I missed, didn't get back from a cross country ride (7400 miles) in time: http://www.rockypointrally.com/. It looks like a great time and a bit deeper into Mexico. From there you are on your own. Although, a couple of guys I know, rode their bikes to Tierra Del Fuego.

    Best to all,

    Pixs

ps. be sure to check out the photos.
