I'd switch to a CV carburetor, they are very good carbs.

Just the ticket pick up a used HD CV 40 from an EVO or TC, manifold,
hook it up, check the shovel forums for tips but it makes all the difference

Yup . . . the CV is a good way to go. I got mine used ($35) from a member here on the forum, and then rebuilt and upgraded it with a tuners kit from CV Performance. Ken (of CVP) will help you with the jetting, etc.

They are a very reliable carb and simple to set up.
