Carb HELP?

I finally got around to finishing up the restoration of a older 1996 FLSTF. Last thing to do was rebuild the CV Carb with the new kit I got from CV Performance. While cleaning, soaking, and all that, something fell out of carb (think it came from needle / slide section) that I can't seem to find the location as to where it goes back in. Its a little brass ferrule of some short. Any HELP Appreciated.

Come on. Ken or anyone from CV Performance help?

Maybe for your main jet? I tore into my '99 CV (but didn't go below the float), and did not see this part, but Keihin has used ferules on their main jet in the past (big side down). Are you the original owner? Ya sure it is a Harley / Keihin CV?

Sorry I couldn't be more help - carbs have always been my nemesis, but EFI is even worse for me.

I found a break down of the parts, it is called a collar just under the top cap and shows it as a number 32 but does not show where it goes, somewhere on top but ??? where, Part number is
27263-96COLLAR

Throttle spring collar #21? It may be part #21 if it isn't #32. #32 would go in the position it is shown, under the cap on the 2 o'clock capscrew position (intake at 6 o'clock, capscrews at 2, 4, 8 and 10 approx) on some, but apparently not all, carbs.

Interesting..... In the HD Service manual I have for the 1995-1996 Softails, it does not show the #32. Only place I can see that it would go is in the top slider cap in the 2 o'clock position, which would be under neath where the cable bracket sits on the top of the cap. Thats where I put it. It is used where your throttle cable bracket bolts to top cover.

thanks figureded it out. Still seem to have a little "COUGH" down low off idle sometimes. ny suggestion. ??
