I am in the process of upgrading my 883 to a 1200 and would like to rebuild my carb, does anyone know is I should use an 883 rebuild kit or 1200 kit. is there even a difference?

You'll just need a Stage 1 jet kit...depending on which air cleaner and exhaust you use will determine what jets you need...Here's a little read on carb jetting...
