    Carry what...

I carry cigars, sunscreen, gloves, gps, lighter, cutter, night and day glasses, a knife in case a cigar needs a better cut, some papers for the law, a rain jacket, couple of rags, some spare mags and some personal protection

Personally, I don't carry a gun because it can be confiscated if you're stopped. Some States have laws against carrying weapons, and I ride through too many to know which one's do. Colorado allows you to carry without a concealed permit.

I DO carry a few rocks in my pocket for those that want to tailgate though.

here is a link to carry laws in the USA

    Handgunlaw.us

Wish they all were the same but then we'd end up with a bill
drafted by NY and Ratified by CA due to the size of the states

Know the laws, get a permit in your state, know who reciprocates
and if you go into a state that doesn't know the transport laws.

I have to add that I always carry my 9mm Walther when I ride in CO cuz it's legal. In Alaska I carry a .454 Casull Taurus at all times.

I think Marc is doing a survey to see how many bikers are ready for any kind of emergency. I may leave home without checking my tire pressure, but I always carry if I'm riding in-State. Too many crazies are running loose these days. I mean, why carry if you're not prepared to use it?

I would add that if someone is harrassing you, let them go on by until you find a good place to pop them and make a clean getaway with no witnesses. Even if you're legal, you'll go to jail if you pull out your gun in traffic.

Yea, just wondering how many of you carry when riding.

I was carrying a SIG P238 380 but now carry a Shield 9mm or a Springfield XDS 45. I have the Oregon and the Utah concealed permit and will get the AZ next because it covers other states like Nevada and other states.

If you check my link it will tell you what states accept your carry permit
it will also tell you the rules for carry without a permit in that state if it's
    accepted,

NJ - NO HOLLOW POINTS, if you are going through or to NJ don't take
self defense hollow points if you get caught in a routine stop you will
go right to jail. Stupid law...

NY - no carry for anyone outside the state without a NY permit, period
you can take it through, gun in one case, ammo in another but you cannot
Stop in NY (other than gas or piss) IE you can travel through it but not to it.

IL no carry for anyone, and of course hundreds die in chicago every
year from gun shots, but hey no carry stops that doesn't it...

Most states allow you to transport your personal fire arm just know
the rules for that state if you don't have a carry permit..

That link is a good one HRK, but it shows how stupid each State interprets what is legal. I just prefer to not carry on long trips to avoid all the local b.s. if stopped. I'd feel better having a loaded gun with me, but can't take chances with all the idiotic regs. of each State.

Besides, a couple well-placed rocks or ball bearings will keep em off your tail. Just get the hell out of there quick when doing so. Now, if they start shooting at ya, that's a diff. story as to what to do.

Interesting little side story in Colorado: some nut-case evading a local cop in Leadville lost the cop pursuing him, so he drove to the Police Station and started honking his horn to resume the chase. Cops came out and the wacko tosses a hand grenade at them. Fortunately for them, it was inert. High speed chase ensues through 3 counties, coming to an end when Highway Patrol threw road spikes in front of him. A local Buena Vista cop ended the debate with one shot from his .45 Colt 1911.

State laws are state laws 10th Amendment - States rights
Be thankful in a way the feds aren't in the game as to carry
our rights would be subject to the whims of whatever party
was put in power for that term...
