Why does the CDI of my Ducati fails so frequently? Is this a common problem? Is there a better (aftermarket) model on the market out there? The label on my CDI is BB1105

I would get ahold of 1st Ducati USA or a Ducati race team and ask them what there using to light the fire on there bikes....find out what the big boys are using....and winning with and go from there!
2nd Call a few makers of Elec. Ign systems and see if they can direct you to something that will work!

3rd I would check all your connections and triple ck all your grounds!
4th Wire a working CDI around your wire harness and see if it stays working!

not sure where your located, but using dielectric grease (sp) really works at keeping moisture at bay........put it in/on all electrical connections.
