I think that it will be this coming week that I will be breaking the bike down. Now, the only thing that I have a real question on is checking ROD ENDPLAY.

I just want to verify other information that I have been getting. My question is this. When checking the end play on the rods, I can expect some movement from side to side? Correct? About 0.020" is about the max that is acceptable? However, if I feel any movement up or down, then this would indicate that there is a pretty major problem and that I will have to split the cases and get that problem addressed. Correct???

    Thanks in Advance....

At least on the shovelheads some play side to side is normal - a hair or two. But there should be NO verticle slop in the rods or wrist pins.

Fortunately, that was the case when Tattoo inspected my rods & pistons just the other day.

Thanks. I would think that the side to side play is a lot more on a shovel than what it is on a twin cam. Just a thought.

    Thanks Josh.

I suppose we could also ask what he meant by "rod end play"? :roflmao:
