You just got to love old bikers :D . This fella I work with was ridin' around here back in the late 60's early 70's and he and some of his old buds collected a passle of cool stuff. He went to one of them and bought a 1973 Motto Guzzi (sp) with sidecar. WAY below what it was worth, heck WELL below what the sidecar alone is worth. But that wasn't the cool part for me. The sidecar was full of old (1940 - 60) Harley parts. He gave me a bunch of the NOS parts. Another Sparto was in there in un-modified condition with NEW lense (I needed that lense badly). A bunch of the old glass lense turnsignals (housing and glass, two green glass :wtf: those are I have no clue but cool). A spotlight with handlebar switch brand new condition. Now comes the hard part. Do I keep all this like the little packrat I am or do I clean up and sell what I don't put on my Sporty :gah: . I do dearly love collecting crap I have no use for at the moment LOL.

I did tell him if I sold any of it he got half, only fair. He wasn't too concerned LOL.

Wow wvak47, sounds like you really got some nice old parts. Speaking of sidecars, I just picked up a russian built Sputnik sidecar to put on my 04 Sportster. Waiting for the weather to get cooler to mount it though. I haven't done too much riding because of the triple digit heat right now, but in a couple months I'll be back on the road, with the sidecar mounted. Well if you decide on selling any of your goodies let me know. Congrats on your Christmas in July.

if the green glass are small like thimbles they are the turn sig indicators on 65 up electra glides, they mount in the headlight housing on the back side/drivers side. most have been replaced with aftermarket plastic ones. i also have some old glass tail light lens with chrome bezels. sounds like ya found some good ol' stuff. if ya sell it make sure the buyer is gonna use it, not ship it overseas............that is where most of our old iron is now days:mad:

Hey Oldman, long time no see you around here. Good to hear from ya again. You get that sidecar rigged up I (like everyone else) want PICS man.

These green lenses are exactly the same as the turnsignal glasses other than the green color.

I did an inventory on the stuff last night.

Got one :( complete 1949 dated rear turnsignal housing, lense (red), bezel, with socket and wiring. Wish I had a second of that one, I would use them for the rear of the Sporty. Kinda odd, the other red lenses are made from red glass, this one appears to be clear glass with red paint inside.

Two each of amber, green and red signals. All but one is complete with wiring and mounts. The glass on all of these match manufacture pattern but no dates on them. It amazed me how hard the old timers were on turnsignals LOL every housing was scraped on something. These all could have been take offs that were replaced on bikes that were laid down too.

Got a couple of the repo plastic jobs too. Wasn't too thrilled with that. Got both lenses but only one of the housings at this time.

Got one NIW brass colored bezel and screw. A second one to set up the green lenses for something would have been cool. Oh well, someone will need it. Have 6 or so of the chrome bezels without housings or lenses.

A bunch of springs that I have NO clue what they go to. These were in the AMF packages (small envelopes). Got two of the AMF flip lids for the key switches with the retainer pins.

Two of the cat's eye dash inserts. One red with chrome, and one green with brass. The red is NIW, the green needs some cleaning, but the lense has no scratches, just the brass is dirty.

Four of the old AMF big flat amber turnsignal covers. All of them are used but in great condition.

A coil with chrome cover (looks like a small block Chevy coil LOL). Haven't put a tester to it yet but it looks to be new. May run it over to the parts store this evening and have them test it for me to make sure. Is marked 12v.

That crazy light is something else. The switch on that thing is really strange. I plan to take pics of it and come asking for help in the Tech section.

Since my buddy told me it was mine and to do what I want with it I just might not sell any of it. And since Chuck scared me I really doubt I will go near ebay with it. Should I go to turn anything loose I will bring it here first. Now I know why no one wanted me to get a motorcycle, these dang things are addictive as Hell. I sure do lovez my new drugz LOL.

Hey wvak47, Yeah I was pretty busy the last few months watching my grandson for my daughter, she's in the Air Force here at Tinker AFB. Now that she found another sitter, I'm free again. Boy those little kids are a handfull. Anyway I'll be sure to post photo's of the sidecar when I get it all attached. Still too hot here to do anything outside. Boy it sounds like you have quite an inventory of goodies. I tend to agree with you on keeping it all. It's not that often you'll come across that kind of treasure trove. How's your bike been running since you got it all together. I saw all your photo's of it completed, looks great.

Hey wvak47, I put up some photo's of my sidecar if you want to check it out. Just click on my photo gallery. This one is all metal, no fiberglass. It was a new old stock made in 1989.

Thanks Oldman, it was a project for sure. Fun at times and :witsend: at others LOL. She is doing really well for me. Working on 7K since Easter this year. Went to Mountainfest in Morgantown WV this past Saturday and then to one of the local church Biker Sunday shows. Did about 500+- miles on Saturday. Butt is getting used to riding that padded 2X6 now. :roflmao:

Cool looking sidecar. That project would make a good how to post I would think. When you get around to doing it, you should make notes and take pics and post them in the project section. I will be interested in hearing how she handles after the add on as well.

Hey wvak47, sounds like you have quite a bit of miles under your belt for now. Wish I could get some ride time like that on mine, oh well hopefully when I get the sidecar on, I'll get more miles on her. I do plan on posting photo's on the project for all to see as soon as I start it. I'll post them as I go and comment on the assembly and fine tuning of it. Right now, since it's too hot to work outside on her, I've been reading up on sidecar mounting, toe-in, lean-in, lean-out, and quite a few other adjustments you have to make. There's quite a bit involved on mounting these sidecars, mostly in the adjustment category. Anyway this way the wife and I can go places more in comfort, for her that is. She can't stand to sit on the little seat behind me, on the Sportster, just too uncomfortable.
