First time posting, couldn't find anything in other posts about this problem, so here goes. I have a 2001 Super Glide wit about 14,000 miles. I keep hearing this clicking sound coming from what seems to be the top end. Sometimes it's worse when I first start up but goes away quickly. I just changed oil to Amsoil synthetic, Noise is still there. I'm thinking it might be a lifter but not sure. I bought this bike used and I think it was sitting for awhile. Anyone with any ideas?

try changing the oil a couple of times.....the bike is very low milage, with a lot of sitting time. a lifter may be trying to stick. change both filter and oil about 1000/1500 miles apart....see if the lifter cleans out.

i second that , if it sat to much witch it sounds like it did with only 14K miles on a 01 don't try to ride it hard or you'll be doing more repairs just ride it easy /normal & she should come back up /loose to where it not trying to stick & welcome to the site

Thanks guys. Sorry it took so long to answer. I changed oil twice now and the noise is still there but smetimes not as loud. Was thinking of changing lifters this winter anyway, but I'll see how the rest of the season goes.
