    Hans (insert Die Hard smart-azz comment here - sorry, couldn't help myself:roflmao: ) -

Your technical manual should tell you. Don't have one? Ya need one. I changed mine on my FLHR using my manual - was pretty easy. Sorry if this reply aggravates you - not my intention - but the manual will save you a whole lot more aggravation down the road.

For the record, do I hope someone with the FXDX manual answers your question fully.

    Good luck!

Pretty much the same on all models

Loosen adjuster at front down tube
Remove Primary derby cover (5 bolts on tc 3 on evo)
Loosen nut and adjusting screw (back off)

Drain trans, or, put derby cover back on and put bike up on two 2 x 4 and lean over on jiffy stand

Remove exhaust or at least drop it out of the way
Remove trans side cover 6 allen screws
Fluid will drain out so have a pan handy

    Remove side cover from cable
remove clip from end of cable from the clutch activation arm

Remove c clip from handle bolt,
    remove cable from lever

Reverse it all to put it together.
