Does anyone one know which side of the coil (top or bottom) is positive and negative. It's not marked + or -. Does it matter which side is hooked up to + or no?
    Thanks,
    TC

Have you got a manual for your bike to see if there is a pic that might help you on location.
Here is a wiring dia. for your model. Good luck and let us know.

Chucktx is correct, thanks! I spoke to a tech with JP Cycles, he said it doesn't matter which side gets wired positive or negative. It will work either way. I was working on the bike and the negative wire from the ignition coil fell onto the positive wire from the battery that goes to the solenoid. I heard frying noise and smelled something funny like burning wire. That smell was my ignition frying. About $200 to replace.
Friendly advice: if the negative ignition wire gets connected to the positve battery feed it will fry the ignition module every time (this according to the JP cycles guy) Thanks for your help guys.

Yep, the best learning experience sometimes is the mistakes we make, sorry to hear about the wiring.

Thought everyone knew all electronics run on smoke, you let it out and
the thing will die every time...

OH, so you have to keep the smoke in?! ah, now I am understanding. Thanks.

Has anyone had experience with running dual coils on 4 plug heads? If so where is a good place to mount the second coil?? I have mine mountedon the left side near the motor mount but it blocks my pretty shovelhead and I want to relocate it, but I don't know where. Any ideas will be appreciated.
I will try to upload a pic of my beast.

thanks but I actually have the other dyna type coil not the post type coil like shown in the above pic. I would like to use a setup like this but I have found not a mount like this for the older style coils. Let me know if you know of one. Thanks.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I am gonna fab something and mount the coils on the front downtubes. I think. Or I might mount them both on the frame seat tube. One on each side on the tube.
