first time I tried cherry, it was with salmon and shrimp....was GREAT. Apple is ok, but not as much smoke..... hickory is great with hamburger!!! I'll have to try finding some pecan.....have not yet found that....everything else I have found in smaller bags at HEB for 2$ a bag.....

My vote is for Pecan, Mesquite, and then Apple. In that order.

And not to add fuel to the flag fire, but did they ever figure out if he was
born in the USA proper, as if constitutionally mandated, or in some other country..."abroad" as it were.

I do not care for walnut. For Beef Mesquite Hickory Pecan do well , for Pork or Chicken I like Hickory or Apple. Red Oak is good for buring down to coals and grilling Beef or Chicken. They have a cut of meat in Ca called Tri-Tip part of the sirloin I think hard to get in Texas goes real well with Red Oak.
