Looks like a dusting of snow on a field. Trade you some snow for cotton this winter?

Those are really cool pics Josh. I've never seen a cotton field before nor realized that is how they look. It does look like snow.

Yes, and when the harvest is in full swing over the next few weeks, the cotton will be all over the edges of the roads and it looks just like patches of snow. Some of the cotton fields stretch for as far as the eye can see.

And no, I wouldn't trade all the cotton in the south for one dang snowball LOL.

I showed your pictures to my wife and she to was impressed. After you pick the cotton off how long does it take to have new buds.

After the cotton is picked, I believe that's it. Sometimes they go through the field a second time to pick what may have been missed the first time, then they chop the plants down, plow them under and reseed next year.

I performed "Cotton Fields" at our cotton festival a couple of weeks ago :D.

My grandfather raised cotton, being the youngest in the family I the only one of the kids in the family that didn't pick any, and he passed away while I was still too young. Nice pics Josh

Nice picture. Almost too pretty to be real. Our scenery here looks faded by comparison.

We have a Tulip festival here every year in the spring. Every area has its own beauty and those cotton fields looked really cool.

I never would have pictured Texas and Arizona as cotton producing areas. Cool.

Me too. About 10 years ago I was in AZ on business and had to drive from one if my kids house to Tucson. Instead of jumping on I10 and heading south I did what I do on my scooter and went back roads through the desert and back water towns for the scenery. I had to stop and make sure I was seeing cotton fields and not something else. I was surprised too.

I didn't realize AZ had cotton fields either. Cotton plants must like drier areas of the country.

They can grow with a minimum of water but need lots of sunshine, or so I've been told.

Well that's something there isn't any shortage of in AZ. The fields are irrigated by flooding.
