My bike started to backfire and miss, then along side of the road I went...I wasn't getting any spark,I checked for voltage at the coil(after I got her home)I was only getting 2 volts...then I pulled the "hot " line off and checked for voltage I got 12 volts,I hooked the wires back up and tried to start the bike,The Crane unit is suppose to have a "red" light and flash when the motor cranks...I had no light...I suspect the unit went "north" ..lol......Does this sound right ..I hate to buy a new unit if it is good....but I do think it's bad ...any suggestions...Thanks Al

If there's no red light flashing, it's prolly fried.
But if you want to you can check the amperage output of the ignition wire to the coil with a volt meter. Crane should be able to tell you the correct output of a proper functioning ignition. Check your ignition wires too, make sure there are all good and not broken or frayed.

Every product for years that Crane has made including their cams was real good stuff.
    Electronics don't last forever.
Like Chucktx said, call crane, ask if you can send it to them and have them to check it out.
Or go to a Indy shop and ask them if they know how to check it out and pay them.
