Yes you may need to clear the rocker covers, if you have some modeling clay you can put it on the inside of the cover bolt them down and turn the engine over by hand, then clean up any areas where you see contact since you are increasing the size.

Also you need to be sure you have valve to piston clearance and should clay the
piston valve relief areas to be sure it doesn't hit at max lift now that you are adding "lift" via the rocker ratio...

If you go back to my thread 88-98 CI upgrade in the projects section, I posted a link to T-Man Performance which shows the area's that must be clearanced on the rocker cover. Use an air grinder as a dermal will take a long time. It will work but painstakingly slow.

checked valve to piston more than 060 on intake and 085 on exhaust, did not have to grind covers, more than 040 at valve end on base circle and 060 on pushrod end at full lift with light test springs. thanks for the input from all. had to start the wood furnace up again, mutha nature.

runs great, 500 miles, first oil change (dino) coming up. pipes and plugs look good, might put it on dyno at local H/D shop to check #'s and fuel curve, think I might want to raise needle a notch, feels a scoach lean until totally warmed up. Thanks to all .

Excellent get 1500 miles or so before you let some Dyno jockey rip on it

Good stuff...I agree with HRK wait until after the 1000 mile oil change before heading to the dyno...
