I'm having issues with the angle of which my bike sits when the bike is sitting on its kickstand. I have a 1987 HD Sportster XLH 1200 which was lowered. The bike sits to straight up. I think my rear shocks are about 10 1/2 inches. I measure the clearance and from the ground up to the bike's frame and it has a clearance of 5 inches.
The bike currently has a 9 1/2 standard kickstand. I purchased shorter kickstands from Drags specialties which are designed for lowered bikes. The length of the new kickstand is 7 1/2 inch kickstand but when I installed on the bike, it did not change the angle of which the bike sits. I'm also noticing movement in the kickstand once I tightened the bolt. I took off the kickstand and notice that the diameter of the male section of the kickstand that goes into the receiver in the frame is not the same diameter of the original kickstand. I called Drag Specialties and they advised that they as no solution and nobody else had that same problem.
I think I need to change the angle of which the kickstand comes out of the receiver on the frame. Then probably the bike will lean properly. The dealer also stated that I should purchase a longer rear shock. That was probably raising the bike enough to change the angle.

Is there anyone who had this issue?

i have found that when buying jiffystands, mfgs. measure two ways.....one is the overall length, the other is the length of the straight part.....before the bend on the ground side. your original jiffystand can be modified then rechrome/powdercoat/painted.....send the faulty one back or resell it..........

Get the kickstand for the 883 "Hugger" model, which 1st came out in 1987. It's 2" lower than the Standard from the factory. I had the same situation on my '95 - came from the factory as a Standard, but it's lowered 2" on both ends with Progressive suspension & the Hugger stand works just fine.

Thanks, that what the dealer said. I can't heat it and bend it as the molecular structure of the jiffystand. The best way is to cut it and re-weld it the right angle I need then rechrome it. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. when I order the kickstand I ordered it with 883 hugger model. That's what I don't understand. The description stated that it was meant for lowered bike that were lowered more then 2". This should have worked. The only problem which I can't understand is the diameter of the bar. It's not the same diameter and when I place it in there's play.
