can you explain how the cv idle screw packing kit goes on the stock idle mixture screw.
I assumed the o ring went on the idle screw first then the washer then the spring. then it all goes in the carb. thats how I installed it but I wanted to take it back out and I had to dig everything out it was stuck down in the idle port of the carb. Ounce I dug the o ring out everything else came out easy. so I wonder if I had it in there correctly.

If you mean the mixture adjustment screw, I put mine together (with screw on bench facing up like a mini rocket) with spring, then washer, then O-ring.

so when the needle goes in the carb body the o ring would be closest to the tip of the needle. the spring then washer would be pushing it towards the end of the needle.

Harley service manuals dont show the idle mixture screw I suppose because Harley seals it from the factory.

Mine fell out while riding so I didnt see how it was put together.

Correct, the order going into the carburetor is O-ring, washer, spring, mixture screw. The washer always goes between the spring and o-ring to protect the o-ring from getting cut by the spring. The o-ring seals up inside the mixture screw hole to prevent any air leaking in or residual fuel leaking out.

Looking at the video located on the instruction page (link below) around time 1:25 it shows the mixture packing pieces being put on.

    Thanks for the answers.
I did have it in wrong. good thing I read the post explaining how to blow compressed air through the idle mixture port after flushing it with some carb cleaner and took the screw out to do that.

after it feel out a guy at the harley dealer pulled a screw out of an old cv he had and sold me that. At the time I hadnt seen where I could buy a new one from CV-P. he told me to put it in and fill the hole with rtv so that's what i did. It ran ok with that but was a real mess getting all the rtv out when I pulled the screw last week. rtv in the carburetor, not a good thing.
