I recently purchase a 95 Electra Glide. The previous owner said the carb had been jetted down for fuel mileage. The bike sat for some time and has crap in the carb. I just pulled it to rebuild and install the CV performance jet kit. In pulling the car I found it to have a Thundejet installed and 45/180 jets. The CV performance instructions recommend 45/180. Any advice, do I keep the jets and install the rest of the CV performance kit? The bike runs fine but I get burps every now and then usually in the most inconvenient times.

I would remove all parts associated with the thunderjet, and if the carb had a Thunderslide (black plastic slide) instead of the stock cast slide that will need to be swapped out as well. Parts such as those for Thunderjet/Thunderslide kits are proprietary so you can't mix many of the parts with original stock parts. Once you start mixing parts it becomes difficult to properly tune. A clean start is always favorable.

It still has the stock cast slide. So you recommend eliminating the Thunderjet and just go with the CV performance kit?

Yes, the TJ parts may not even line up or thread (jets) the same so stick with the new parts for the best performance.

Thank you Kenfuzed and CV performance. I did like you said. I removed the Thunderjet, rebuilt the carb, and used the CV stage 1 kit. The bike feels like it has twice the power, no burps, very responsive. I had to break the thunderjet to get it out of the carb. The center would not unscrew. I then used liquid steel to fill the small hole. Thanks again
