Here soon shortly riding season is over. Period. After the next 2-4 weeks there will be below freezing temps, snow, ice for the next 5+ months. Absolutely nothing redeeming about any of that.

I did push it once till the end of November a couple years ago. Full face helmet, winter gautlet gloves, tourmaster cold weather jacket and over pants. Snug as a bug in a rug. It was about 24-25 degrees that last nite. When I went into work that afternoon for 4pm it was a smoldering 43-45 degrees out. When I headed home at midnite it was 24-25 degrees. No worries, or so I thought. I headed down the road not feeling the cold but my bike seemed to be handling oddly. I stopped in the parking lot and shuffled my feet on the road surface...black ice like a MF'er. Whoa what to do what to do. I forged on ahead at 20-25mph, even on the interstate, I didn't care. I put my flashers on.

The ride home took extra long and I prayed the whole way home that if God would get me home I would be done for the season and end my riding season proper on every November 1st.

For the most part I am done November 1st but if the ocassional indian summer day sparks up I may take a local ride.

Yup...Getting colder out here too...The older I get the more I hate the cold...We still go out for a few rides as long as it is above freezing...Between 10:00 and 2:00 works for us...

I feel for you guys in the northern climes. I lived in Cleveland, Ohio as a boy, and that's as far north as I ever want to go.

Same weather here - plus it has turned colder - autumn has arrived! About 60 today and it was a chilly ride. Just wore a long sleeved thermal shirt and my new leather vest. Next time it's the jacket. Doh!

Hope you get that ride in on Tuesday. Brrr . . .

Bad knees, ankles & backs do not mix well with cold weather riding. My shovel loves it, however :D. Seems to run better in cold weather.

Air cooled....spring and fall are my 2 favorite riding seasons. Can't stand riding in the glaring sun and heat.

Tuesday says 50/50 rain at this point, lol. Will be a day judgement call...if its raining I'm not going.

Beautiful ride...If your headed down 28/30 make sure you stop in at the Adirondak Museum which is just after Blue Mountain Lake on the right...If your there around lunch time there is a great old inn at the head of the lake about a mile or so before the museum...You can also get float plane rides accross the street...Have fun...Colors should be great...

I've asked Fatboy the same thing many a time, when you moving south and west.
We're doing a fall colors and covered bridges ride this Sunday. Temps should be in the upper 60's to 70. We are loving this fall. :)

Man, I wish we woulda moved a little farther south - but I wasn't riding when we moved. T'was 38 or 39 this morning, but got up to the mid 60s and I rode all afternoon. It got cold fast after the sun went down behind the trees.

Still, it's way better than the frigid north. BI, move back down here, brother!
