Was on vacation this past winter on the honeymoon my wife and I never had when we were young and poor,(older and poor now), went in to Rossmeyer's H-D out by the highway (where 1 and 95 meet,if I remember right) and heard about this place in downtown Daytona Beach. Dragged the wife away from the ladies accessories and took the rental car exploring.
Very cool place, very nice people to talk to, the original office was amazing. You Florida guys don't know how good you have it!

One of those motorcycles reminded me of this bike advertised and promoted by Super Cycle magazine (aka Nostalgia Cycles) back in the mid '80's called the super V. Wonder what came of it. I heard they were POS:

Before he was killed his plan was to move bikeweek and biketoberfest out
of daytona other than main street, they were hitting him with fees, costs, all kinds of stuff, he said screw them and built the store out by 95 in Ormond.

Looks like 90 degrees between the cylinders - and the carb is offset - strange.

I remember hearing how he went out, seemed like such a sad end. He had really built up quite an enterprise. I had no idea about all the charitable things he was a part of until I went to the museum, hopefully they will keep its exhibits intact if it moves location. I'd love to view it again, maybe this winter.

If you don't mind going 55 - 60 the whole way and do it in two days down, two days back, maybe longer LOL. I'm kinda thinking you probably won't want to be creeping along with a liability .

I will someday. Probably have to wait until I retire from the academy. I'd like to take 10 days off and school wouldn't let me get that much time off.

Suits me fine, down US 1, near Jacksonville 360 around to Hwy 16 to St Aug. Then A1A down the coast. We will do back roads in 2 days each way. Its all about the ride...the rest is just there. Done it that way last 2 yrs by myself...have had a blast. More time on rd than in Daytona. Trust me, you would love it and it is no interstate and easy to do.

All those beach houses just north of St. Augustine sure are pretty! Watch out for the turtles crossing the road, nearly hit one in the car, would likely really suck on the bike.

Don't crash because of a turtle. We got a lot more of them than people are told. they just cause a little bump. Don't swerve or slam on brakes just miss 'em if you safely can. 20k$ bike goes over $2 turtle with nothing left over, simple math.
