    Dear City Slickers,

How's that hope and change thingy working out for ya?

I'm sure you've noticed by now that your Social Security checks have gone down. You didn't get a cost of living increase this year because the cost of living did not go up. However, it did go up with Medicare. Your Medicare premiums rose but your Social Security did not rise to cover it. This is prolly gonna happen for the next three years.

At the same time, federal gummint employees got a 3% pay raise. And our elected officials, who call themselves "public servants" gave themselves a $3000 pay raise. The beauty of that is they didn't even have to vote for it. A few years back, they set it up so they would receive automatic pay raises every year. The cost of living could go down and they would still get a pay raise. Pretty neat, huh?

"Public servants" my ass! What they actually are are our rulers. Don't believe that? Look at the health care "reform" package they just passed against the will of the majority of the people in this country. They didn't read it and it doesn't apply to them. In fact, they exempt themselves from most of the bull**** laws they pass. Did you ever think that the country would come to this?

Did you ever think that the left stream media would become the propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party? Maybe they always were, but it was never as blatant as it is now.

So now, Stinky is gonna appoint a commission to come up with ways to reduce the deficit. Hello? WTF are we paying him and Congress to do? That is their job. Of course they are too cowardly or too incompetent to actually do the job they are elected to do. Most of them are overpaid, incompetent buffoons. And we keep sending the same overpaid, incompetent buffoons back year after year. Meanwhile, they don't do what they're elected to do. They give themselves lavish salaries, lavish pensions, and lavish health insurance plans. They grandstand at committee hearings like Senator Ma'am and Henry Waxman. They show their ignorance and incompetence like Hank "Guam is gonna tip over and capsize" Johnson, the Mensa candidate from Georgia's 4th congressional district.

You worked hard all of your lives and you see what some of your fellow baby boomers have become. These were the same *******s who were protesting the Viet Nam War. Now, they've grown up and they're destroying our country. Wait until these dipsticks destroy Medicare. It's coming.

If you voted for Dimocrats, you've screwed yourselves. Get ready to take the blue pill geezers.

It's been said that "people get the kind of government they deserve" & accepting that as true, what we have says that the majority of Americans are not "smarter than a 5th grader". And my favorite Thomas Jefferson quote is, "One of the problems with 'majority rule' is the majority is usually wrong."

But here's the key reason we have the Congresscritters we do - 60% of Americans receive more in gov't. "benefits" than they pay in taxes & that number is expected to reach 70% before too long. People are not willing to give up any of those "benefits" & as long as the politicians keep promising them, they'll continue to get elected. And I'm reminded of a guy who spoke out vehemently against gov't.-run healthcare @ a public meeting with a Senator, then shouted don't you touch my Medicare. The Senator tried to explain that Medicare IS a gov't.-run healthcare program, but the guy didn't get it - he thought it was some kind of "right" as opposed to the socialist welfare-state "entitlement" program it actually is - which also happens to be broke.

People tend to think of social security as a "right" too, but it's not, it never has been & the U.S. supreme court has (correctly) held that it's not a contract & that you have no "accrued property rights" just because you & your employer(s) have paid into the system. In fact, the S.S. Admin. is not legally obligated to pay you anything & it's also broke - this year will be the 1st time it pays out more than it takes in & CONgress has always spent the "surplus" anyway - on other "entitlement" programs people think they have a "right" to.

Since the number of "baby boomers" applying for benefits is rising & the number of young people entering the workforce to tax is falling, S.S., Medicare & all such programs will continue to go deeper into the red & it's a mathematical impossibility to turn that around, without major cuts in benefits & major increases in taxes, which don't even go directly to the programs, they go to pay interest on the debt from $$$ already borrowed to pay for those programs. In a word, the status quo is "unsustainable" & if the Congresscritters got no salary or benefits @ all, the savings wouldn't even be "a drop in the bucket".

The source of this quote is disputed, but it's true nonetheless: "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy."

Gittin real close to goin on a ride with Chucktx to Arkansas.
Hear it rains a lot there.
The gaitors will cover up the melted place on my Frogg Toggs rain suit. And keep them from stick'n to the pipes again and keep my boots dry.

Told my buddy to git a pair of them before he went to Bike Week in Daytona.
He also has a pair of Frogg Toggs I told him to git.
They really worked out good for him.
And several of the guys bought some Frogg Toggs rain suits on the way back from Daytona.

I've been going to git some but just stall and don't.
    Got some now.

I was at Gander Mt. a couple days ago and tryed on some of those Frogg Toggs. They fit like a baggie. If I could find some that were cut a little better they would be ridin home with me. I did like the material they were made of tho - it gives you breathing room and keeps ya dry.

Frogg Toggs and Gators, now theres a fashion statement :D. I hear they even have purple and pink Frogg Toggs. Chuck get a picture of that one will yea. The Goldwingers around here wear color matched Frogg Toggs to the bikes color or rider and passenger.
I've been told they tear easily.
It rains a lot here and I pack HD regular rain gear...pants and jacket...works well.

Do you have a Academy up where yer at.
    Probaly not.

I got a set and they are a little big on me.
If you git some call Frogg Toggs and git some heat shields for like 6.00 a pair and put on the inside of the legs to help keep the pipes from melting them.
If you have some gaitors from HD that will do.

    If not use Duc Tape

Bought a HD rain gear and after the 1st time I wore it I threw it in the floor in the garage.
I hate it, and when I have it on I'm upset.
When my buddy went with me to Big Bend state park last year.
He had a Harley Rain suit and it was hard as heck for him to put it on.
After we got home. The 1st thing he did was go git a set of Frogg Toggs and he said, man what a difference.
I've had Frogg Toggs for over 10 yrs. I used to fish Bass tourmanents with them.

You can keep yer HD rain suit.

    Warning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!....................

If you git a Frogg Toggs Rainsuit and see a loose string on the suit.
    Please...............................

Leave it along unless you have another suit.
If you pull it you will rip the suit.

Tried to explain this to my wife but the string seemed to bother her,
    Now her butt gits wet.
