LOL...What idea is that??My '03 has the roller bearings and I have no problems with it....there's a Timken conversion kit if you were going to do a big inch, monster torque and gear drive...IMO the tapered bearing is better and stronger but the rollers are OK,crank run out is all I'd be concerned about, and that can be fixed too.

I found an 03 Heritage for a real reasonable price. The bike is in somewhat beat up condition in my standards. I thought that this would be a better project bike then redoing my Road Glide.

Wouldn't be a deal breaker for me....especially if you're gonna tear it apart and build it up again...

Not really a deal breaker but it is just another expense that I am not sure that I want to go through. Not that it is real expensive to do once the case is apart. I am thinking about this one that Hot Rider could ride instead of with me all the time. PM me your email and I send a link to the bike?

If you are going to build it for her, don't go overboard on the power
a 95 inch with mild cams and a mild build is going to do very well

    It's not a deal killer...

When I found my Springer you should have seen it as it was very sad looking, i almost turned it down. However, i did buy it as you know. I did the 95 build to it with recommended 203 cams and also did the oil pump upgrade to the newer HD system. Had to replace lots of chrome pieces and buffed and buffed the paint back to looking very good. Did other changes to it, seat, pipes, handle bars, windshield and a few other items.
The bike shines now and has plenty of power in that 95 build, doesn't need more power and its a show stopper now. Have won many awards and trophies with it and shows.

So I guess what I'm saying is if you get it for a good buy as I did it can be well worth it.
