    I do to talk to my granddaughter 2000 miles away. I want her to be able to hear and see me so she knows me when I do see her every once in a while. She knows it's me (she's not even 1 yet). I love it. Sometimes I talk to my mom through Skype, but that doesn't matter as much. She knows what I look like.

    I never looked into it. Do you have to buy any hardware or subscribe for service?

    I also never looked into facebook or twitter....but don't really like the idea of spending so much time on a computer as I was practically chained to one for 30 years.

    You just have to download the app and then it is just video chat stuff. I don't have no use for it unless I'd move away from my family. I don't get into the twitter and facebook either, I figure if people really want to know me or what I'm up to, they can find me personally.

    If you go to skype.com, it will tell you about it, but it is a video chat where you can message your friends and family and businesses use it to for business conference calls.

    I'm sure it does for the people that have no better things to do and are not using it for the specific use of talking to family members far away. It's not my thing either, I live with JB and my kids so I don't know what I'd use it for! Apparently JB is moving away that he has it!
