Watched that story on the news this morning, puts a new meaning on man's best friend. There are more and more reports of cougars in WI now, pictures tracks and one being hit by a car. DNR cannot deny they are here anymore.

We got em all around us and have an over abundance of Coyotes to. We have to really watch the pets in the warmer months. Keep a loaded gun close.

Saw that poor dog on the news to and was sure glade to see his owners taking care of him.

Dogs are incredibly loyal and protective. That was a fair sized cat or what is called a mountain lion out this way.

Man that kid was lucky, and I bet his mom and dad was sure glad his dog did the job protectin the kid.
The dog would heal faster than the kid if the mountain lion got the kid.

Ours are independents they eat Democrats to.

Came upon one while deer hunting once. He was laying alongside a deer trail and I startled it. But not sure if he was more startled or me, big cat. We stood there about 6 feet apart staring at each each other for what seemed like forever. Had my rifle pointed right at his chest and then he turned and slowly went back up into the forest. I turned around and went the other direction where I came from.
It's illegal here in Oregon to hunt them with dogs so their population has really been growing.
Had another once run across HWY 35 once when riding up the back side around MT hood.
