Now that I have my new 22 drawer tool box, I need to get some mats so my tools don't fly around the drawer. I have been looking a t a bunch of stuff but am just curios to what you guys think works the best? I was looking at the foam drawer mats but I was told that they kind of suck as they slide all ofver the place?

    Suggestions are welcomed.

Oh yeah, how do you guys like to store your wrenches? In a wrench tray or just in order laying on the drawer floor?

For sockets I use that one in a couple of the drawers, metric in one, SAE the other

mats are good from them, fit well don't move around, I put screwdrivers in retainers on mats to keep them from moving.

    mats only for big stuff,

I used to do that but got tired of fishing for sockets
sae vs metric, hell the print on the side is getting smaller
anyway, this way they dont' move and are marked to size.

Plus when wrenching I find it is quicker to put tools back
even after each use than it is to leave them on a bench
to find what I need and I don't loose them...

My sockets have there own hard plastic tool box with an indented place for each one and the ratchets and extensions as well, wrenches metric in one or two drawers labeled as such, SAE in 2 or 3 drawers unlabeled, ratchet wrenchs have there own hard plastic box they came in. Then I have my old tool boxes with tools and stuff my dad gave me when I was a kid (many decades ago) that are just all thrown in together. I am what could be called a TOOL HOARDER

I am not a tool hoarder but I do like to have the tool that I need to do the job. I would much rather have just the right amount of tools rather than too many. I am working on having a more organized work space. While putting my engine back together it was really apparent the the things, the basic things that I need to make it just that much more easy to work. Ask BP. :gah::roflmao:

    I'm everywhere, I'm everywhere
carpet pieces, for impact and hammer drawer.
rubber dip painted on the bottom works as well as rubber kitchen drawer liners
galvanized wall angle studs are lite and can be cut to fit and 3M down for dividers
magnet sheets work also for sockets and wrenchs, but collect debris faster
and as mentioned there are lots of drawer organizer kits to choose from as well
