    Hello Riverthecat, a lot of these answers are relative to many factors. Where are you from? Will you be riding a lone? How many miles are you anticipating? All these things play a role in the responses that you may be looking for.

    That's how it starts. Make it easy on yourself first time. Better to want more for your second time out than beeting yourself up trying to do too much the first time. Have fun.

    Depends on how badly you're smitten! I cogitated a long time before deciding to build a shovelhead. I think ultimately your budget will play the largest role in determining which way you'll go.
