I rebuilt my CV carb and drilled out the wrong plug. Apparently I drilled out the vacuum tube plug? I put it back in and filled the drilled out hole with JB Weld. Is this OK? Also, what is the tube for? Stock Carb Removed01.JPG

    Good question...
I haven't it it back on yet. Wanted to get some clarification as to what exactly this "tube" is for. I plan on putting it back on tonight. Plus I need to let the JB Weld dry ;)

That plug is similar to a freeze plug on an engine block. The passage is for venting. During manufacturing those passages are cleared to remove any debris left from the casting process and then plugged. Just make sure that when you reseal it you don't let any JB Weld block the passage or work its way down inside. Otherwise you'll be fine.

For anyone reading this, the plug that should be drilled is located underneath just behind the float bowl as pictured here. Be careful when drilling this plug because if you jam the drill bit into the mixture screw under the plug you can damage the threads inside the passage.

@kenfuzed That is the EXACT answer I was looking for. Thanks a bunch. BTW, it's running perfectly fine. I took it to a neighborhood shop yesterday and dropped it off for a Dyno Tune. Thanks again.
