I replaced the rear tire and have everything back together and the only thing that I am worried about is the tension on the drive belt. I don't have the belt tension tool that the manual calls for and I have done this before and never had a problem. Does everyone have this tool or is there a way to check the tension without the tool? i dont use a tool....i lift the rear wheel off the ground. i tighten the belt to get about 1/2 inch defelection at aprox. half way between the pullys. then when the bike is set on the ground it is tight enough for my purposes.......im sure there are a lot of other ways to do it and you will recieve other ways......pic the one you like, or use the service manual.......

What I do is measure the distance from the center of the axle to the center of the swing arm pivot before I pull the wheel, set the wheel back to the same measurement after install.
